KT200 to KT200II 2026 Upgrade: What to Send Before Ordering

Published: 30 September 2026  |  Updated: 30 September 2026

Applies to: Existing ECUHELP KT200 owners considering the current ECUToolStore KT200-to-KT200II upgrade product. This page covers order preparation and activation evidence, not enclosure disassembly or firmware repair.

If you want to upgrade a KT200 to KT200II, send us the unit edition, clear front and rear photos, the KT200 serial number and the offline-dongle ID if your package has one. Do this before ordering. We will match the order to Auto, Full or Full with Offline and tell you what the current upgrade package includes. Do not select a version from the case photo alone.

Which KT200 upgrade path should you choose?

Start with the edition already licensed on your KT200. The name on the invoice, the software menu and the hardware photo should agree. If they do not, stop and send all three records to us.

Your current setup Upgrade path to request What we need before confirmation
KT200 Auto KT200II Auto Front and rear photos, serial number, current software/version screen
KT200 Full without offline access KT200II Full Front and rear photos, serial number, proof of Full edition
KT200 Full with offline workstation KT200II Full with the correct offline option Everything above plus the existing dongle ID and a photo of the dongle

The current ECUToolStore upgrade listing is a replacement-and-activation route. It says you may keep using the old KT200 while the KT200II unit is in transit. After the new unit arrives, both IDs are submitted; the old KT200 is then locked and the KT200II is activated. That sequence matters: do not assume both devices will remain active after migration.

View the current KT200-to-KT200II upgrade product before sending payment. If the product page and your installed edition do not match, contact us first.

Send these six items before you order

  1. Your current edition. Tell us Auto, Full, or Full with Offline. If you are unsure, send the order record or a clear software licence screen.
  2. A clear front photo. Show the complete KT200 unit, not a close crop of the logo.
  3. A clear rear photo. The unit ID and serial information must be readable. Do not post this photo publicly.
  4. The serial number in text. Type it in the message as well as attaching the photo. This avoids errors caused by glare or low-resolution images.
  5. The offline-dongle ID, if applicable. Connect the existing dongle only to the trusted workshop computer and use the approved ID reader supplied for the product. Send the result privately.
  6. Your current software year/version. A screenshot is useful when the hardware, licence and installed package may not match.

Add your order email and destination country so we can connect the compatibility check to the correct customer record. We do not need an ECU file, vehicle VIN or tuning file for a product-edition check.

What happens after the KT200II arrives?

Keep the old KT200 unchanged until you have the new unit and the activation request is ready. Photograph the front and rear of both units, copy both IDs into the same message and include the original order reference. If your previous package had offline access, include the dongle ID again.

Wait for confirmation before deleting software, changing firmware or disposing of the old device. Once migration is approved, the old KT200 licence may be locked as part of activating KT200II. Plan the change outside an active customer job so you are not relying on the old unit during the switch.

What the upgrade does not confirm

The upgrade changes the device and entitlement. It does not confirm that every ECU on your schedule is supported. Before accepting a job, identify the vehicle, ECU maker and exact ECU family, then check the current KT200II list for the required OBD, Bench, Boot, BDM or JTAG operation.

Do not treat a single vehicle case, matching housing or shared ECU name as a complete compatibility check. Hardware and software revisions can change the available operation. Send us the ECU label photo and the mode you need if the list is unclear.

When should you stop and contact us?

  • The serial number is missing, damaged or different between the label and software.
  • You bought the original KT200 from another channel and cannot confirm its edition.
  • You have an offline dongle but cannot read its ID.
  • The page offers several upgrade products and you do not know which one matches your licence.
  • You already replaced hardware or ran an update and the device no longer opens normally.

In these cases, do not guess and do not open the enclosure for a pre-sale check. Send photos and the exact error text to ECU Tool Store support.

Common upgrade questions

Can I keep using the old KT200 after KT200II activation?

The current upgrade listing says the old KT200 is locked when the new KT200II is activated. Use the old unit only while waiting for delivery, and finish or postpone customer work before the activation change.

Can I reuse my old KT200 offline dongle?

Do not assume it transfers automatically. Tell us that your KT200 has offline access and send the dongle ID before ordering. The correct package must be confirmed for the new KT200II licence.

Will my KT200 cables and adapters work with KT200II?

The upgrade product may supply only the new master unit for some customers, so accessory reuse is expected in that route. Send a photo of your current kit if any cable or adapter is missing, damaged or unidentifiable; we will confirm what must be added.

Before checkout: send the six items above and wait for the edition match. That one message prevents the most common activation delay.
