How to Read Delphi DCM7.24 via OBD with KT200II (No Bench Needed)
Introduction The Delphi DCM7.24 ECU found in VAG 2.0 TDI and Ford EcoBlue engines has been notoriously difficult to tune. Most tools require opening the ECU (risky) or expensive subscriptions. Today, we show you how to read it safely via OBD using the KT200II.
Step 1: Preparation
-
Tool: You must use the KT200II (Gen 1 KT200 does not support this).
-
Battery: Connect a stable power supply (GYS or equivalent) set to 13.5V. Do not rely on the car battery alone.
Step 2: Virtual Read (VR) Process
The KT200II uses a VR system for this ECU. It does not physically read the slow flash memory; instead, it identifies the ID and downloads the matching original file from the server.
-
Select Driver -> Car -> Delphi -> DCM7.24.
-
Click "Info".
-
Click "Read". The software will download the file.
Step 3: Writing and Checksum
When writing your modified file (Stage 1, AdBlue fix, etc.):
-
The software will prompt: "Do you want to correct checksum?" -> Click YES.
-
Crucial Step: Follow the "Ignition OFF" prompt strictly. Waiting the full countdown prevents the ECU from hanging in bootloader mode.
